JR ACADEMY

Skate Yorkton’s Junior Academy is a group program that teaches introductory figure skating skills to young skaters who show potential to excel in competitive figure skating. 

Entrance to our Junior Academy program is by invitation only and skaters must register for 2 sessions per week.  Skaters will be talented identified and selected from our CanSkate sessions.

Skaters must wear figure skates and helmets are required until the skater has official passed Stage 3 of the CanSkate program.

Fundraising

Skate Yorkton requires members to fundraise to keep fees as low as possible. Any fundraising done is used to offset the cost of ice rental, which is our largest single expense. Families who do not wish to fundraise can choose the Buy-out option.

Fundraising commitments per skater are as follows:

JR Academy: $200 in total product sales

Fundraising opportunities will include but not limited to: Mom's Pantry, Meat Order, Meat sales, all TBD.

Please bring your $150 fundraising deposit cheque to the Skate Yorkton Office. Cheque is to be post-dated to 2024/03/01 and will not be cashed if fundraising commitment is met.

For families that choose NOT to fundraise, the Buy-Out fee per skater is: $150.  Please add the buy-out fee to your registration cheque or E-transfer amount.

Skate Yorkton Lottery Books:

Skaters are asked to sell a Skaters Lottery Ticket Book. Stay tuned for details

Costume Fee: a separate $50 fee will be collected by Jan 31/23 for ice show costume. Ice Show is tentatively booked for March 2024.

**Always remember to write your skaters names on your cheques or in the comments of your E-transfer**
